Pool Closing

A pool closing is the most important activity performed for the safety of your pool during the winter months, particularly to prevent freezing of the pool system components and underground and above ground plumbing as well as keeping the pool clean and safe from debris damage and people and animals falling in. Unfortunately, the majority of pool services providers perform this activity improperly and sloppily because they are UNQUALIFIED and UNPROFESSIONAL. The outcome of their shoddy workmanship is broken plumbing lines, damaged equipment, and collapsed pool covers, which are very costly and time-consuming to repair and replace. We have not had a single broken line or damaged piece of equipment in the history of our company. In addition, the quality of the pool water almost always opens the following year to clear water, if the water was clear at closing the year before. A standard pool closing consists of the following activities:

  1. Blow out and plug pool system plumbing lines and skimmers with customer-provided return plugs, plumbing caps, and gizmos and the floor drains are air locked as needed.

  2. Disassemble appropriate components of pool system (appropriate components of pump, filter, gas heater or electric heat pump, salt cell, chlorinator, chemical dispensers, multi-port valve, etc.).

  3. Remove ladders and handrails (above ground pool stairs and diving boards may be removed only at customer request and when possible or advisable).

  4. Apply Closing chemicals, which are dependent on the size and features of pool

(Note: there is an additional charge or customers may provide).

  5. Install single “typical” safety or tarp winter pool cover.
