A pool opening by a QUALIFIED pool professional is a very important activity performed to prevent debris and poor-quality water from spilling into the pool, which may cause the pool to become dirty, unsanitary, and damaged and can be costly to remediate and repair. It also is the time when many pool issues can be identified with a thorough pool system diagnostic test, which we perform as a courtesy during our pool opening. This enables issues to be resolved early, before they become big and costly problems, and when it is cooler, before the pool typically is in use. Unfortunately, the majority of pool services providers perform this activity improperly and sloppily because they are UNQUALIFIED and UNPROFESSIONAL. The outcome of their shoddy workmanship is a dirty, unsanitary, and damaged pool that can be costly and time-consuming to remediate and repair. A standard pool opening consists of the following activities:
Remove single “typical” safety or tarp winter pool cover from pool and shake or brush debris off as best as possible.
Fold single “typical” safety or tarp winter pool cover.
Install ladders, handrails, diving boards etc.
Activate gas heater or electric heat pump, if applicable.
Assemble pump and filter and activate pool system.
Apply Opening chemicals, which are dependent on the size and features of pool
